Christmas Trees at Smith Mountain Lake

SML Rotary Christmas trees

SML Rotary sells beautiful fraser firs

As both a fundraiser and service to the community, SML Rotary sells about 100 freshly cut, hand-selected Christmas trees each year. Rotarians pick up the Fraser Firs during Thanksgiving week. Sales begin on “Black Friday” and continue until we sell out – usually within two weeks.

Trees are 5-12 feet tall; prices are $40-$100. Delivery is $15 extra. The largest and smallest trees sell out quickly. Rotary volunteers help you to select, then trim and load your tree.

SML Rotary Christmas trees are sold at Hot Shots Family Fun Center and Restaurant in Moneta, located just off Route 122 at 67 Village View Lane near Westlake (map).

Most buyers consider Fraser Firs the most desirable choice for indoor Christmas use, with excellent needle retention and a wonderful scent. Each SML Rotary tree is hand-selected by an expert. SML Rotary Club member Cindy DeMarco served as the club’s Christmas tree-picking expert for more than 10 years.

About 50% of Christmas tree proceeds support the Rotary Club of Smith Mountain Lake’s General Fund. The General Fund supports local charitable activities such as Rotary’s Teacher of the Year awards and dinner, Tackling Hunger project, playground maintenance at the Franklin County Community Park, Lake Christian Ministries, SML Good Neighbors, and more.

Our supply is limited and we don’t re-stock. Follow this map to Hot Shots! For sales hours, contact Rotary Club member Jeff Schott at Hot Shots, 540-719-1547. Jeff can also tell you if trees are still available.
